It's easy if you think its format and color, because with Blender you can get beutiful colors to metal-made objects. The results you can achieve can be much impressive, up to new people using Blender. So, let's start. Fire up Blender and adjust the interface the way you like to begin the work. I particulary prefer like the picture below. ![]()
A better look to the interface to begin our work
Let's begin deleting the default cube. Right-click it and press X on the keyboard, confirm and we are ready to work.

The way we will build the ring it's only one of the thousand ways to do that. This is a really fast way and you get great results with that.
First, press 3 on the keypad to change to side view and add a circle five squares above the screen's center, also choose 16 vertices. You will get something like this: ![]() After add the circle on the right place
Now press keypad 1 to change to front view, press B on the keyboard and select all the circle's vertices.
Click to put the cursor on the center of the screen, press SHIFT+S and choose Cursor->Grid. ![]() All vertices selected
Change to the side view, select the four more below vertices (pressing B and dragging a rectangle around them) of the circle and delete them (press X and confirm).
Now hold SELECT, right-click the two vertices below the circle and press F. This will close the circle and will be the inner side of the ring. ![]() The circle edited
The magic to create a perfect ring, it's use the spin button. With it, the object will extrude around a point of your choice, like the cursor or the screen center.
To do so, press A twice to select all vertices, click on Editing Panel (or press F9), adjust degr to 360, steps to 36, click spin butotn and click on the circle, look what happen... ![]() Choose this selections, click spin, and click on the circle
And, voila! We have a perfect ring!
On the next part, we will color it and do this ring more equal to a real one. Change do shading menu (press F5), and make the following configuration: ![]() The color Configuration ![]() Shaders and New Material ![]() The mirror configuration |
